Garlic has played a big roll in human history for over 7 thousand years. This tasty food has been a primary ingredient in the Mediterranean diet for good reason. Garlic could be added to just about any dish and the aroma from cooking with garlic is enough to invite the neighbors! Besides it’s tasty addition in recipes garlic has incredible health benefits that shouldn’t be ignored!

Prevents Diabetes
Garlic increases the speed of insulin release and naturally regulates the blood sugar levels preventing the risk for diabetes.

Lowers Cholesterol
It lowers the count of triglycerides and cholesterol in our blood preventing it from clumping together in the arteries. In result this lowers the risk for blood clots and heart attacks.

Anemic? Improve Iron Absorption
Garlic increase production of ferroportin (protein that transfers iron) making it easier for the body to absorb iron. So if you are anemic make sure you have garlic in your daily diet.

Aids in Fat Loss
Garlic contains the compound allicin which has anti-bacterial properties and helps reduce unhealthy fat absorption.

Prevents Cancer
Daily intake of garlic has been found to lower the risks of most types of cancers. Garlic contains allyl sulphides which significantly reduce the risk of breast cancer.

Antibacterial and Antiviral
Garlic is well-known for its antibacterial and antiviral properties. Fresh garlic can prevent food poisoning by killing bacteria like Salmonella, E-coli and other bacteria.

Keeps Vampires Away
And lastly as you may have heard garlic can keep the vampires away! :)

Here I posted just a micro list of the health benefits found in garlic. Add garlic to your recipes whenever you can and try to have some at least once a day. If you have to, you can use garlic power, but fresh garlic is always the better choice and it has a long shelf life.
