clementineIt’s already a cold winter here in Montreal and it’s not getting any better. I have listed some excellent fruit and veggie options that should be eaten this season! 1. Beets Beets are an excellent source of magnesium and calcium which help maintain strong bones. Beets also contain iron, and folic acid which is very important for bodily functions.  2. Brussels sprouts.  Brussels sprouts are one of my favorite vegetables! Surprising huh? I hated them when I was a child but as I got older I grew to love them. These little green balls are packed with vitamin K, C, Iron and Fiber. 3. Cauliflower.  Cauliflower is an interesting vegetable because it’s white! When people say eat your greens I’m sure cauliflower is not the vegetable that comes to mind. Cauliflowers are actually super healthy and are packed with vitamin C,K, Iron, Fiber and potassium. They have everything you need to stay healthy this winter. 4. Clementines.  MMM. Clementines! Stack up on those boxes of clementines and enjoy the tangy flavor of these healthy orange balls. They have a high content of vitamin c, potassium and are low in calories.  5. Pears.  Pears are a delicious fruit that is packed with vitamins and fiber. This fruit is considered to bone of the highest fiber containing fruits. Improve your digestion with pears and see the benefits.
