Homade Dark Chocolate Almond Protein Bars

  1. 1 cup raw almonds
  2. 1/4 teaspoon sea salt
  3. 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  4. 1 1/2 cups rolled oats
  5. 6 ounces of vanilla protein powder, preferably plant based.
  6. 1/3 cup of honey
  7. 1 bar of dark chocolate 70% +
  1. Prepare an 8 x 8-inch square pan by and add cooking spray
  2. Chop 1/4 of the almonds and put aside toppings
  3. Blend the remaining almonds and sea salt until paste like texture.
  4. Then add the honey, protein powder and oats to the blend for a smoother texture.
  5. Add mixture to baking dish and press lightly to flatten mix.
  6. Add the chopped almonds on top of the flattened mix.
  7. Melt the dark chocolate in the microwave and drizzle all over the mixture.
  8. Put the mix in the fridge for 25 minutes before cutting
  9. Slice into 4 inch x 2 inch bar sized rectangles
  1. Add fruits such as raisins, cranberries, bananas and coconut shavings for different flavor! Easy protein bars you can make and enjoy for on the go.

    I just made these and they’re so yummy! My vega vanilla protein powder tastes great with it, and I even added chia seeds, flax seeds and sesame seeds! I swapped the honey for agave since it’s more vegan friendly, and decorated the top with pecans because pecans are pretty and taste amazing. These bars are super lovely to eat right after I get home from the gym, because I’m always starving after a work-out and will raid my fridge if I don’t have a snack ready <3
