Sit down at the table!
Walking around snacking, eating on the couch and snacking at your desk can all be big contributors for over consumption. How much food are you really eating if you are doing something else at the same time? You will be surprised with the difference you’ll get from just sitting at a table when you’re having a meal. Not only will you be more conscious of your portion sizes, you will be more likely to notice when you start feeling full!
Have fiber with every meal
When you’re making your meals its important to keep in mind the balance between your proteins, carbs and fiber. For example, have a chicken breast with chickpeas with a side of broccoli. You will be surprised to find out that you may feel full for a longer period of time after having a high fiber content in your meal. The more fiber you have the easier your body will break down and digest foods.
Drink water before eating
When you sit down at the table have a tall glass of water right before eating. Sometimes we mistake the feeling of thirst for the feeling of hunger. You may find that you will eat a lot less after having a tall glass of water before eating. Drink plenty of water throughout the whole day as well and you may find that you aren’t as hungry during the day.
With these 3 tips to consider you will notice a big difference. It’s the small things that create the big picture! If you have trouble losing weight and getting in shape, start changing things at the micro level like eating at the table, drinking plenty of water and having lots of fiber may be what you were missing!
